October 22, 2005 The NIEHS complleted a study about leukemia clusters near military bases. FACT applauds this study but disagrees with its findings that "no general increase in childhood leukemia was found in other US counties with military aviation bases." Being another childhood leukemia cluster near a military aviation base, Sierra Vista is the obvious example of why this study is flawed. FACT would like to see this study redone, focusing on zipcodes rather than counties, and including more than just 22 bases from 5 states. Contaminated Military Housing?
